Miss So pointed out that in 1974 PIU survey, the manufacturing company under Code No. 34 offered a minimum of $963 whereas the maximum was $1,506 but in 1976 survey, the manufacturing company under Code No. 22 offered a minimum of 964 and the maximum of $1,408. She further pointed out that the maximum of $1,408 of Code No. 22 was lower than the lowest maximum of $1,506 (Code No. 34M), and she wondered where did the company Code No. 22 come from when the 17 companies under survey were picked out of the 24 companies.

of PIU,
Mr. Broadbridge again said that was a question he could not That was something they would have to refer to the Controller If the Staff Side would put down their questions concerning the PIU on a piece of paper, the Official Side would certainly pass it to the Controller of PIU and get his comments.

Miss So said since it was agreed that the 17 companies were picked out of the 24 companies, however, in 1974 there were only two manufacturing companies whilst in 1976, there were three manufacturing companies and at the same time in 1974 the two manufacturing companies under survey had maximum and minimum but in 1976 one of the manufacturing companies (Code No. 11) only offered a minimum without a maximum although Mr. Broadbridge did say that there was only 1 employee of Stenographer in this company so that there was no caximum. Mies So would like to know how this comparison was being done...

Mr. Broadbridge said again the question, as he suspected that there were a few others, should be put up to the Controller of PIU who was a man responsible for producing the PIU report. On the question of company No. 11 (manufacturing) he mentioned that they did discuss this last time. As there was only one employee in that company who was a stenographer, it was not fair to use that salary to be the maximum for SATS in the Civil Service.

Miss So would like to know who was the Controller of PIV and other members of the FIU who was responsible for the survey in question.
Mr. Broadbridge said Mr. Mace was the Controller of FIU.
Miss So further asked for the person who was responsible for the 1976 survey.

Mr. Broadbridge said the point was if the Staff Side had any questions about the conduct of PIU, they should address them to the Controller of PIU who would then be responsible for them.
32.
Mr. Hammond suggested perhaps they should arrange for the Controller of PIU to attend their subsequent meetings.
32.
Mr. Broadbridge suggested the Staff Side to put their ques- tions in black and white and then they would pass them to the Controller who would give them his answers after some search work, if necessary.
