if the CATS Unit could put forward fresh evidence to support their valid claims, the Official Side might not accept them because they understood the Official Side would have to consider the facts put forward by the other two grades in the Secretarial Class as the Restructuring of the Secretarial Class was a package deal?

since different grades within the Secretarial Class had their own salary structures and different terms of service, therefore a package deal in the whole class was not appropriate, In that case, the conditions of different grades should be considered differently and separately and that would mean there should not be a package deal for the option date.

Miss Cheung, Chairman of the Typists Unit, said,

when the options had originally been sent to Members there had been no mention of a preliminary period ;

the preliminary period should be allowed to continue until agreement had been reached between both sides :

the Official Side had reached agreement with the previous Committee but this agreement had later beer repudiated by Members at an að hoc meeting. The present Committee had been properly constituted and should he recognised. Future consultations should not be limited to beginning where consultations with the previous Committee had ended:

the Tynists Unit Committee did not agree with the restructuring agreed to by the previous Committee and resolved to propose an alternative structure.
