Stenographer

(Pensionable)

A. DIRECT ENTRY

Candidates should:

(a) be over 18 years of age; female;

(b) have 3 subjects English Language (Syllabus B),

Chinese Language and Mathematics at Grade 3 or above in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education; or equivalent; and

(c) have shorthand and typing speeds of 20 .p.m.

and 50 .p.m. respectively.

Note: Candidates are required to pass entrance tests.

B. IN-SERVICE APPOINTMENT

Typists who:

(a) have at least three years' Government

service as Typist;

(b) have shorthand and typing speeds of 30 w.p.m.

and 50 w.p.m. respectively; and

(c) pass a competitive in-service examination in

English, Chinese and Arithmetio; and an interview,

may be considered for appointment to Stenographer.
