(i) appointment should be in-service, only,

for Personal Secretaries and Stenographers who during at least three years' service have demonstrated that they possess potential for supervision and organisation. Saving officers at present in the rank of Senior Typist who have received very good reports on their supervisory ability over at least three years may be considered for appointment subject to their having acquired the minimum technical skills, (piem. In-service candidates should be required to pass a competitive examination în English and an interview in that language; (ii) Supervisors should be required to possess

the shorthand and typing speeds required of confirmed Stenographers, i.e. 90 w.p.m. and 50 w.p.m. respectively; `
