15 On 13 June 1978, acting upon information Narcotics Bureau, assisted by Royal Navy and Service divers salvaged a consignment of acetic anhydride from the ocean bed near Dai Miu (an out- lying island), submerged in fifty feet of water. Sixteen jerrycans weighing some 300 kilos (287.4 litres) were seized. No arrest was made, and enquiries are continuing into this case.

16 Narcotics Bureau received information of a group actively involved in the import of morphine and heroin from Thailand, the drugs being smuggled through the airport. As a result three couriers were stopped on consecutive dates as they landed at Kai Tak airport. A search of their luggage revealed drugs as follows.
