RITA NIGHTINGALE CASE
Notes on questions submitted by Mr David Hallmark and Mr David Lyman
Question 1
The memorandum of 12 September to be given to Mrs Castle for her perusal and return (and which comments upon earlier letters from Mr David Hallmark), states that nothing was known of the men prior to their coming to notice in connection with the Nightingale case.
Question 2
We do not know the answer but it is of doubtful relevance.
Question 3
No obvious relevance.
Question 4
Mr Hallmark has already been shown the Fassenger Manifest of Korean Airlines containing the names of the three and the seats they are assumed to have occupied during the flight to Bangkok. Details have therefore been included in the memorandum (at para. 7(i)).
Question 5
Because they had no evidence (see memorandum of 11 September).
Question 6
The purchase of tickets from the same source suggests an apparent link between the three but no evidence of conspiracy.
Questions 7 and 8
This is confidential information. It is in any case not
relevant.
Question 9
Why should the Hong Kong authorities be expected to investigate rendezvous arrangements alleged by Miss Nightingale to have been made in Paris?
Cuestion 10
Unless the French police carried out an investigation this would not be known. It has no relevance to the case.
