LT COL (RETD) M F LEONARD LATE RMP

Born 1921

Commissioned into Middlesex Regiment 1943

Transferred to Royal Military Police 1960

Served as Assistant Provost Marshal in Hong Kong 1972-75 during which period he was very well reported on by Maj Gen Burnett (well known to RHKP) Lt Gen Sir Richard Ward and Lt Gen Sir Edwin Bramall.

His reports make him out as a quiet, unobtrusive man who is sound, competent and particularly good when commanding troops. He is also an efficient staff officer.

"His outwardly dry manner hides a very likeable personality and delightful sense of fun. People enjoy working for him and in consequence they serve him well. He has been particularly successful in fostering good relations with the civil police authorities and with the RN and RAF Police".
