"Information Money"

You may be interested that DCI's standing order on information money provides, inter alia,

"MOTS:

up to $70 per person, maximum $300 MOTS with offensive weapon: $150 per person

up to maximum $300

Triad officer bearer, up to $500 payable on

conviction

Assault with triad background: $100 per person

convicted up to a maximum of $500."

This is only a small part of a complete list of amounts payable for crimes which is displayed. What I am told happens is that on such arrests the entry in the report book states: "acting on information" and information money is applied for, paid, and usually shared between

the

'informer" and the police (the latter getting the lion's share, the former a small amount for his "signature").
