In my letter of 3 April, I promised to keep you informed of progress in the re-opened inquest into the death in Hong Kong of Mr Liu Ping-Hon.

I have now received a copy of the Coroner's notes on the inquest. Once more, as at the original inquest, the jury have returned an open verdict. Despite a new police investigation of the affair and the detailed enquiry, lasting for three days, carried out at the inquest, no evidence was forthcoming to show exactly how Mr Liu met his death. I am afraid that there is nothing further that can be done to pursue this investigation; in the absence of eye witnesses, the exact facts of what happened may never be known.

I should be grateful if you would show this letter to Bob Parry and Stan Thorne.
