setting that would be fitting for
the rising status of Hong Kong.
The Committee further recommends
that the grounds surrounding
the future Government building
be made an integral part of the
public open space.
23.3. New Supreme Court Building: The
Committee considers the siting for
this civic building suitable. The
final proposals show a revised
location of the proposed pedestrian
bridge across Queensway which will
afford a direct link with the
Mass Transit Railway Station area.
The Committee does not envisage
any insurmountable problem of
vehicular access from Queensway.
It is the Committee's view that
the concern that the new structure
will overshadow Flagstaff House
should not arise if the arch-
itectural design of the new
