Conditions for Promotion
General
1.
All promotions are subject to the approval of the Director and
the following common conditions :
(a)
TA
With the exception of the ranks of Laboratory Technician III
and II which have a combined establishment, a vacancy must
exist in the higher rank to which a candidate is recommended
for promotion,
(b) The candidate must be recommended by th. principal with the
agreement of the management committee.
(c) The candidate must be satisfactorily reported upon by the
Inspectorato.
Certificated Master/Mistress to assistant Master/Mistress
2.
Certificated Masters/Mistresses will be eligible for consideration for promotion to Assistant Master/istress if they have six years acceptable experience as a class teacher in a secondary school in respect of which
increments are given on a one-for-one basis.
Assistant laster/Mi stress to Sonior Assistant Master/Mistress
3.
Assistant Masters/Mistresses will be eligible for consideration for promotion to Senior Assistant Master/Mistress after they have demonstrated
their ability to undertake more responsible dutics by serving satisfactorily
for:
(a) three years regularly teaching an academic subject at Form V
Middle V level in a secondary school;
OR
(b) two years performing duties of special responsibility in a
secondary school.
Graduate Master/Mistress to Senior Graduate Master/Mistress
4.
Graduate Masters/Mistresses will be eligible for consideration for promotion to Senior Graduate Master/Mistress provided they have had five
years of acceptable secondary school experience in a graduate post in a
school or schools in ro pect of which increments are given on a one-for-one
basis, and have clearly shown ability to take charge of an academic subject
or perform duties of special responsibility in a secondary school.
