1. When Mr Murray asked me this morning why we had not included in our draft reply and supplementaries for the above Question any mention of yesterday's leak of the Turner Report in the Hong Kong press, I explained that we had only just heard about the leak and knew no details of what was involved. was, therefore, nothing we could usefully say.

When I said this, however, I was forgetting that the Question is not due to be taken until next week. This will give us plenty of time to find out more about the leak. We have, therefore, telegraphed to Hong Kong to ask for details, and we shall, in due course, submit a further draft supplementary which will cover at least the accuracy of the leak and anything we have been able to find out about its origin.
