Regulation 12A of the principal regulations

is amended by inserting, after paragraph (2), the

following paragraphs -

(3) Notwithstanding paragraphs (1)

and (2), where the holder of a ticket (other

than a portion of a return ticket) does

not for any reason use the ticket to travel,

he may apply at the booking-office on the

day on which the ticket was issued, or

within 24 hours after the departure of the

train upon which he was booked to travel,

for a refund of the fare paid for the

ticket, and upon such application being made

accompanied by the return of the ticket,

complete and undefaced, the fare shall be

refunded to him.

(4) No refund shall be made in

respect of an unused or expired portion of

a return ticket, except

(a)

as authorized by the general

manager, in which case the amount

of the refund shall be in the

discretion of the general

manager; or
