HONG KONG ELECTRIC COMPANY LIMITED: APPLICATION FOR A POWER STATION SITE

Introduction
In September 1977, the Hongkong Electric Company (HEC) formally applied to the Government for a 50-acre site to establish a new power station comprising 4 x 250 mw sets and 2 x 350 mw sets. HEC stated that this was necessary to enable the Company to meet the anticipated increase in demand for electricity from 1982 up to the early 1990's.
