Informal contacts were in progress with a view to concluding an arrangement with Spain on a multi- annual basis.
In this connection, the United Kingdom delegation emphasized the need to associate the Member States closely with the contacts which were under way.
For its part, the Netherlands delegation reiterated its requests for consultation on Spanish exports of products in categories 6 and 22.
6. Malta
The United Kingdom delegation recalled that it had sent the Commission all the necessary figures and repeated its request for consultation with Malta.
The Belgian delegation announced that Benelux would shortly send the Commission a request for consultation concerning Maltese exports of products in categories 6 and 17.
II. MATTERS CONNECTED WITH THE IMPLEMENTATION OF BASKET
WITHDRAWALS

The Committee continued its discussion on these questions on the basis of a revised version (dated 7 June 1978) of a working document from the Commission departments.
It was noted that this document followed the lines previously advocated by certain delegations S/937/78 (COMER 97) page 7 et seq.7. It was hoped, however, that it could be revised yet again, particularly with regard to the following points:
