GSP TEXTILES AND THE MFA: COMMISSION PROPOSALS

Following the meeting with Mr Tran and other Commission officials on 6 January, we have managed to obtain a "bootleg" copy of the Commission's initial thinking on the future GSP textiles arrangements. A copy is attached. As this does not represent the Commission's firm views and is an unofficial copy, I should be grateful if you would not at present let on to the Commission that you have a copy.

When we have had a chance to examine this document, we will let you have our initial views on the proposals.
