The number of generators

is to be such that the vessels full load can be provided with one generator under maintenance or repair.

Derived

supplies as required for selected weapons and electrical

equipments. Part D, paragraph 7 also refers.

C. An emergency generator, to Department of Trade requirements, is to be provided for emergency services.

d. A shore supply box is to be provided capable of receiving from port

or starboard.

NBCD REQUIREMENTS

a. Basic fire fighting, damage and flooding control.

Halogen gas smothering of machinery spaces (one shot each space)

with water/AFFF spray back up is required.

No ice protection, prewetting or provision for ramming. However see Part A,

paragraphs 2b(2) and 14a with regard to "collision" protection.

d. The ship is to be designed to "two compartment standards" with each

engine room as a separate unit and each with a generating capacity.

5. BOATS. Two 5.4 m rigid inflatable boats are required. (Separate, covered,

engine stowages are desirable).

CRANE/DERRICKS. Rationalised facilities are to be provided to meet the

Capability to lift/tow ditched helicopter (for _salvage). CAPIC to state size and weight of anticipated lift/copy to DG Ships

Launch/recover ship's boats (para 5 refers/lift of 1.5 tonnes tested

weight at 1.5 m from ships side is required).

Recover man overboard/swimmer.

d. Lay/recover danbuoys (para 12f refers).

LIFE-SAVING EQUIPMENT. 2 x 25 man inflatable life rafts.
