All equipment should, where possible, be the latest standards entering service at the time of placing the building contract.
NOTE. Interoperability capabilities of the following requirements are indicated
in the Annex.

MF/HF TRANSMISSION AND RECEPTION
a.
Transmission and Reception of CW/RATT/Data/Voice (SSB/DSB).
(1) One line for MF/HF ship/ship and ship/shore with a power output
of the order of 500W and a frequency range of 1.5 to 28.0 MHz.
b. Reception only of CW/RATT/Data/Voice (SSB/DSB)
(1) One MF/HF receiver for broadcast reception and for unattended
working.
(2) One MF/DF receiver with auto alarm and homing facilities (not RATT).
NOTE: Simultaneous transmission and reception is highly desirable.

V/UHF TRANSMISSION AND RECEPTION
a.
Transmission and Reception of RATT/Voice/Data
(1) Two UHF (225-400 MHz) ship/ship and ship/air, one line to be
capable of VHF (100–156 MHz) as an alternative.
(2) One VHF(IMM) (156-162 MHz) ship/ship and ship/shore (Voice only)
(to be sited on bridge).
(3) Two military band VHF (30-76 MHz) for use on Hong Kong local nets.
(See para 6).
b. One VHF/DF receiver covering 100-162 MHz, AM/FM, for SAR purposes.
CRYPTOGRAPHY AND SPEECH SURVEY
a. On line cryptography
(1) One for broadcast, ship/ship or ship/shore with MF/HF equipments. (BID 660).
