I am writing to let you know that I hope to be passing through Hong Kong on my way back from a Pacific tour at the end of next month, arriving according to present plans on the evening of Tuesday, 31 January and leaving for Tokyo on the afternoon of Friday, 3 February. I am writing to John Curle asking him to book me into an hôtel.

My visit is largely nostalgic and I shall hope to see a few old friends; but I shall of course be only too happy to discuss with anyone any business that they may have that falls within my competence rather than Donald Murray's.
