INTRODUCTION

1.

This circular sets out a revised procedure for

dealing with applications from Government Officers to visit

any of the following countries or territories:

Albania

Bulgaria

Cambodia (Kampuchea)

Mongolia

North Korea Poland

Rhodesia

Rumania

China (including Tibet)

Cuba

Czechoslovakia

East Germany (incl. E. Berlin) Taiwan

Hungary

Soviet Union

Vietnam

Yemen

Laos

This circular will come into effect on the

1st January, 1979. It supersedes Security Branch

Circular No. 5/77 which will be cancelled from that

date.
