Progress made and present position
The Bill was enacted on 7th June. Consultation with affected trades on the draft Regulations revealed some major difficulties in the construction industry. At the discussion on 11th October between the Attomey General, the Social Services Branch and the Commissioner for Labour, it was decided that a viable alternative arrange- ment should be explored.
Regulations made by the Commissioner for Labour on 18th October.
To meet the remaining safety Regulations approved by resolution of the requirements in respect of theLegislative Council on 16th August. The landward provisions of
