I enclose the usual bunch of Branch quarterly progress quartot

reports late appearing. They have been very busy with the 'Crane' reports/6

reports, except the Security Branch report which, yet again, is

on the Police, so they have some excuse; I will forward it on when received.

The Social Service Branch report, as you will see, almost exactly duplicates the narrative section on Social Welfare and Rehabilitation in the "tabular" progress report which I sent to you on 8th May. This will continue and the Branch has asked me to enquire whether you would have any objection to the social welfare and rehabilitation parts of the "tabular" report being dispensed with. I should welcome your views.

I also attach a copy of the last bi-monthly economic report which has just been considered by the Governor's Committee.
