REVIEW OF LEAVE AND PASSAGES

24.

Proposals to rationalise leave and passage

arrangements and to reduce the differences in treatment

of local and overseas officers will shortly be considered

by the Chief Secretary's Committee prior to negotiation

with the main staff associations.

25.

Implementation of the recommendation of

the Ross Committee that annual leave should be the norm

for all Directorate officers is imminent.

NEW AGREEMENT WITH BRITISH AIRWAYS

26.

Further discussions will take place in November

but substantial progress is unlikely until an assessment

of the probable increase in the number and frequency

of leave passages arising from the review of leave and

passages has been completed.

SENIOR CIVIL SERVICE COUNCIL

27.

Discussions with the Staff Side on the possible

future development of the Senior Civil Service Council

are continuing.

STUDY BY PROFESSOR TURNER

28.

Professor Turner is expected to visit Hong Kong

again in November to finalise his report.
