I have spoken to Tony Rushford who has spoken to Ian Sinclair. They are quite prepared to approach the Lord Chancellor and said there is no need for you to speak to them about it. They understand perfectly your need for a big gun for local consumption. They wish to emphasize that, of course, the Lord Chancellor's opinion in this matter cannot be quoted in public. However, they can well see that if the opinion is shown to Brigg CJ, he will be able to use it in confidence with leading members of the judiciary and the local Bar.
