ACTION OPEN TO THE BRITISH GOVERNMENT TO ENSURE IMPLEMENTATION

17. We have every confidence that the Bermuda Government will

approach the Report's recommendations in a whole-hearted manner.

We intend to remain in close contact with them through the

Governor. [If asked whether the British Government can impose

decisions on the Bermuda Government.] The British Government

have the power to amend Bermuda's constitution after consultation

with the Bermuda Government and if the changes are sufficiently

important, after convening a constitutional conference.
