1.

Would you please refer to your minute of 4 January and particularly to paragraph 8 of Mr Whitmore's letter of 29 December to Mr Wall about the discussion in GEN 103 of capital punishment in the dependent territories.

2.

In his minute to PS/PUS of 16 December, Mr Wall indicated that the Secretary of State would wish to put this question to GEN 103 soon after his return to the Office.

We are drafting a submission and I expect to submit during next week. I would expect the Secretary of State to put it to GEN 103 sometime in February.
