You will also have seen William Knighton's letter of 9 day and lichael Butler's of lu May. The points made in all those letters overlap to some extent, and in solo measure are acceptable, though I have some qualifications or difficulties.
Benefit to UK Industry

I certainly agree with your suggestion that Chapter II of the CPP devoted to UK economic interests should include a pucage contributed by losts and/or the Department of Trude on the sectors or types of project aid which would most benefit UK industry. Michael Butler has a related suggestion about reference to the aid and trede contingency provision:
but I think your suggestion is of wider scope and greater value, particularly as proposals under the contingency provision from their natura come forward at short notice and cal arely be planned as a matter of policy. The inclusion of such material in Chapter II has, however, an implication for the point Lade by Michael Butler about Country Assesment Sheets (paragraph 4 belot).
Timing and Coverage

As you succest in paragraph 4, we intend to be flexible about timing of the production of Cars, and would hope to keep up to date with the kind of Lajor changes you mention. We should also treat the list of recipients with a similar degree of flexibilit at the margin; certainly the departaents concerned cun discuse the sort of suggestion which you use in your purugrupi. 7 when we · have agreed the outline of the procedură.
