I At the meeting to discuss the review (pl. see my minute of 9 January attached) Mr Posnett with reference to Belize (see para 3 (d) (iv) of the draft paper) enquired whether Belize would in fact, wish to attain independence should there be a settlement with Guatemala.

2. There was then some discussion as to whether Belize has ever clearly stated its intention to go for independence.

3. I would welcome your advice regarding Belize's intentions regarding independence, and of course, any other comments you may have relevant to the paper.
