GOVERNORSHIPS OF TURKS AND CAICOS

1.

Arrangements have to be made to fill the post of Governor, Turks and Caicos, to replace Mr A C Watson whose term of office finishes in July 1978.

2. The Dependent Territories Senior Appointments Board has been consulted and has agreed that their advice to the Secretary of State should be that Mr J C Strong (biographical note attached) should be appointed.

Recommendation

3.

It is recommended that the Secretary of State should approve the advice of the Dependent Territories Senior Appointments Board. If the Secretary of State agrees action will be put in hand leading to his formal recommendation to The Queen.
