As the Governor is at present away on leave, his copy of your circular letter of 2 August came to me. He already knows that a team of inspectors visited Bermuda early last year, before his own arrival. The visit was certainly useful, and we expected another when our turn came.

2. I am not altogether sure that, in local circumstances, it really will be necessary for the inspectors to examine the Governor's emoluments and accommodation, though the point can, no doubt, be considered nearer the time of the next inspection.
