1. You asked me to let you have a note of the progress (or lack of it) of the Governors' pension scheme Order-in-Council so that you could raise the matter with Eric Burr when you see him at the Under-Secretary's meeting on Monday next. We are now experiencing some embarrassment because the old order is so out of datej so many Governors are now members of the Diplomatic Service that a new Order to take care of their interests is now needed urgently.

2. The first draft of the proposed new Order-in-Council was sent by Mr G A Williams ODM to Mr PL Dyer CSD on 4 December 1974. A meeting was held on 9 July 1975 to discuss the scheme and as a result of this a redraft was sent to CSD on 9 July 1975. The action since then has only been a series of reminders on the part of ODM to CSD.
