I ask ou to look at the ppers relating to the new baremo '8 pension scheme. The PCO heve celled it to x attention since it is becomin urreat to them but I find that consideration of the scheme wha h has been oin on in CSD g3nce 19′′4 This sou will understand is not acceptable.

We have onl - been saved from serious ener7ḥeswent beeruse those Governors who stand to benefit from the scheme have had their poriole of office extended, but we shall be in serious difficult - For oxample at the end of July when Sir Colin Allen retires from the Solomons have to ward s pension under the terms of the old (existin:) scheme and it is thon revealed that we binne mousht in new improved provisions a few months after a Governor retires. Almont ell, 1o not all the Governors now in post are aware that a new scheme has been in prospect
1t demod to them reers and ther will not take kindly to ecoin for some
Nor will we. simpl by the slowness of the bureaucratic mchone.

Apré from the problem this delay is causia in derling wa til Governors approaching retivement, we, and more particularly the Borel n and Commonwealth Office, face frequent embriorsement in dealin with nov appointments. It is just not good enough to tall a prospective Governor
Asced to that the superannuation provisions of the post he is bein consider are effectively in abeyance at present and he will be advised on his position in due course. The post of Governor is more often r not the last appointment in the officer's career and he is justific? in wanting to mow what his pension position will be at the end of it.
As far as I can see from the recent correstondence between Will my Pensions Department and Bawine in Our Superemuetion Division there is no reat problem outstandin us and Bewking has promised govor:1 times to call meeting to resolve points of detail. Des te reulon reminders this has not been arren ed. Can Hewing and Wil!..
