3.10 Where a Governor who is, or subject to attaining the age of fifty will be, eligible for a pension under this Scheme becomes employed in the home civil service or the diplomatic service within twelve months or such longer period as the Minister may in any particular case allow after ceasing to serve as a Governor, he may elect that, instead of his being granted a pension under this Scheme the Principal Civil Service Pension Scheme shall apply to him as if his service as a Governor has been passed in the home civil service or in the diplomatic service, as the case may be.
3.11 Where a Governor who is not eligible for a pension under this Scheme becomes
employed in the home civil service or in the diplomatic service his service as a
Governor may for the purposes of the Principal Civil Service Scheme be treated as if
it has been passed in the home civil service or the diplomatic service, as the case may be.

yearly amount of the former (calculated in the case of the lump sum in accordance with paragraph 5.1) is greater than would be the yearly total amount of the pensions which might be granted to him under paragraphs 3.3 and 3.18 of this Scheme.

3.13 In the case of a Governor who was previously employed in the oversea civil service the amount of any pension and lump sum granted to him under paragraph 3.12 shall be calculated as if the number of years served by him as a Governor had been served in the oversea civil service at the salary received by him in that service immediately before his appointment as a Governor.
3.14 In the case of a Governor who was previously employed in the home civil service or diplomatic service the amount of any pension and lump sum granted to him under paragraph 3.12 shall be calculated as if the number of years served by him as a Governor had been served in the home civil service or, as the case may be, the. diplomatic service, at the salary he would have enjoyed from time to time if he had remained in the home civil service or the diplomatic service having been granted any increments and all increases appropriate to his grade.
