To maximise use of prison labour and prepare plans for expansion of prison industries.

Appointment of Mr. Collinson as General Manager, Prison Industries has been delayed by illness. Further medical reports are awaited. CSB is processing proposals for key staff. Additional papers under preparation in Prisons to establish a new grading structure for Trade

Instructors and to introduce a pilot scheme for development of proposed inmate/instructor ratio.

Reach decision regarding appointment of Mr. Collinson.

Submit proposals for key staff to ESC in November. Support to FB other papers in train.

Steering Group to consider recommendation relating to standard workshop space.
