To vacate Kai-Tak by 1 April 1978

To vacate Victoria Barracks by 1st April 1979

To reach agreement on the replacement programme for the present patrol craft when their present economic life expires in about 1982

Work on both projects

continues up to schedule (The re-provisioning of FHKAAF at Kai-Tak will not be completed until December 1978)

An agreed joint paper setting out operational requirements for replacement patrol craft and requesting a "shopping list" with comparative costings was sent to MOD by C.B.F. on 22 February 1977. Rear Admiral Berthon, Assistant Chief of Naval Staff (Operational requirements), who is the Naval Officer overseeing the staffing of the paper,visited Hong Kong in March and the opportunity was taken to discuss the paper with him and clarify our requirements

To ensure that work continues to be on time. PD start we on AF H/Q.

CONFIDENTIA
