17.

Typists appointed before the restructuring shall retain their right to incremental credit under the old terms.

18.

Typists shall have a career scale of 10 points proceeding to a maximum of $1515 per month. Those with reserved promotion rights to Senior Typist who are promoted to that rank shall have a 2 point scale of $1630 and $1745 per month.

19.

Typists and Senior Typists with at least three years service in the grades and a shorthand speed of 80 w.p.m. shall be given opportunities for competitive in-service advancement to Stenographer. Senior Typists with a shorthand speed of 90 w.p.m. shall be given opportunities for advancement to Supervisor of Typing Services.

20.

Typists with at least three years

service in the grade shall, subject to vacancies, be given opportunities for competitive in-service advancement to Clerical Assistant.

21.

Typists who before the creation of the Typist grade in 1959 were clerks may return to the Clerical Officer grade in the rank of Clerical Officer II.

22.

Senior Typists in post before the restructuring may transfer to Clerical Officer II.

The title of the grade shall be changed to "Stenographer" which reflects more clearly the duties of the grade and accords with the title commonly used in the private sector.
