Abendix I

DEFINITION OF TERMS

(i) Median

If "X" number of figufes are listed in order of size, the median is the (+ 1)th figure i.c. half the figures are greater than the median and half the figures are smaller than the median.

(ii) Upper quartile

If "X" number of figures are listed in order of sizo, the upper quartile is the (X + 3)th figure, i.c. one-quarter of the figures are greater than the upper quartils and three-quarters of the figures are smaller than the upper quartile.
