F. Recommendations

Contents of the covered Priestley Report, the Statement of principle and Aims in Civil Service Remmeration together with Salaries Commission Reports have been fully analysieda and aware by the S.A.7.s. During the aforesaid procedures, we found it agrecable:-

(a) That it was not possible to examine work at first time in

all organizations in the Secretarial Class.

(b) The elements of the secretarial work (for example, shorthand,

typing, receiving visitors etc.) are similarly at all rank for secretaries. A clear-cut in job contents and responsibilities among the Secretarial Class- Personal Secretarios, S.A..s and Typiste is not possible as the said grades linked and existed mutually one to each other. No single grado cun oxist individually.

As to age of Analogue, the P.I.U. claimed that a junior secretary or steno-typist is in her early 20s, a secretary from above 25 onwards and a senior secretary over 30. It is unfortunate and unreasonable to the 3.A.T. in Civil Service that 336 out of 417 have reached the age of 25 onwards, receiving maxitrum pay and qualifying for advancement to Personal Secretaries.
