92. On 8th September, 1976, a party of Narcotics Bureau officers conducted a raid at a flat in Ting Fu Street, Ngau Tau Kok, resulting in the discovery of a plastic jerrycan containing 14.5 litres of acetic anhydride. Enquiries were instigated to locate the owner of the chemical and on 6th December a raid at a room in Tai Po Road resulted in the arrest of Chinese male Kwok Man-sui (6753/2429/3843). Kwok has been charged with Possession Of An Acetylating Substance and will stand trial in Victoria District Court.

93. In the early morning of 12th October, 1976, a party of Narcotics Bureau officers conducted a search of a hillside near Tai Po Kau Railway Station, New Territories. The officers discovered 3 packages hidden in the undergrowth containing a total of 4.75 kilogrammes of prepared opium. No arrest was made in connection with the seizure.
94. The prepared opium seized was of the 'Brownish-Red Rabbit Brand', one of three brands of prepared opium at present being imported from Thailand. The other two brands are 'Paper Wrapped Chicken' and 'White Rabbit', the latter being unpopular due to its inferior quality, weakness and sourness.

95. On 8th December, 1976, acting on information, Narcotics Bureau officers conducted a raid at a flat in Tai Nam Street, Mong Kok, to which a quantity of opium had recently been delivered. A search of the premises revealed 8.3176 kilogrammes of prepared opium and a quantity of opium smoking paraphernalia.
96. Chinese males CHAN Chung (7115/1813) and TAM Kei (6223/4338) were arrested in connection with the seizure and charged with Possession Of Dangerous Drugs For The Purpose Of Unlawful Trafficking and Possession Of A Pipe And Equipment Fit And Intended For The Smoking Of Opium. They will both stand trial in Victoria District Court.
97. An interesting feature of this case is the fact that 808 grammes of the prepared opium seized was contained in 3 prophylactics, and it is believed that it was imported in this manner via Malaysia. A small seizure of similarly packed prepared opium was made by the Preventive Service on 20th November aboard m.v. 'Esso Cristobal' upon her arrival from Singapore.
