56. On 28th August, 1976, Chinese male Wu Kim-ching (5170/0494/3237) was searched by Preventive Service officers on his arrival from Bangkok, resulting in the discovery of a total of 2.425 kilogrammes of prepared opium tied around his waist and calves. Wu was arrested and charged with Possession Of Dangerous Drugs For The Purpose Of Unlawful Trafficking. He was sentenced to 3 years' imprisonment.

57. During the night of 13th/14th September, 1976, acting on information, officers of the Narcotics Bureau carried out a search of the Shau Kei Wan Typhoon Shelter where they believed a quantity of raw opium to be hidden. In the early morning of 14th September they discovered a waterlogged sampan moored at Hing Man Street Ferry Pier which contianed 16 sacks of raw opium totalling 645.2 kilogrammes in weight. No arrest was made in connection with the seizure.

58. Paragraph 65 refers to the seizure of a further 4 sacks of raw opium, believed to have been part of this consignment.
