40. On 14th April, 1976, Indonesian male AMRAN arrived at Hong Kong Airport from Bangkok. His suitcase was examined by officers of the Preventive Service, resulting in the discovery of 16 blocks of '999' brand morphine and 2 packets of cigarettes containing heroin.
The total seizure comprised 20.2127 kilogrammes of a mixture containing 16.6262 kilogrammes of a salt of morphine, and 4.8 grammes of a mixture containing 4.1 grammes of salts of esters of morphine (No. 4 heroin). AMRAN was arrested and charged with Trafficking In A Dangerous Drug. He has been committed to stand trial in the Supreme Court.

41. On 4th May, 1976, Preventive Service officers at Hong Kong Airport examined 2 unclaimed pictures which had arrived from Bangkok. Concealed behind the wooden frames of the pictures the officers discovered packets containing a total of 1.297 kilogrammes of prepared opium. No arrest was made in connection with the seizure.
