that military support could be required.
(e) The military act in support of the Police and their primary roles are to release Royal Hong Folice manpower and to complement Royal Hong Kong Police capabilities. They should be prepared for a wide range of possible tasks, including action against snipers and gunmen. This will require them to train in many of the skills used in peace-keeping operations elsewhere.
(f) In an Internal Security situation Police and Military
resources should be mobilised in parallel. PolMils should be manned from the outset and Military forces should move, at an early stage, to 'low profile' on- centration areas in Hong Kong, Kowloon and New Terri- tories and come under command of PolMils.
