eblishment and business.

It seems that the Colony is in the hands of prematurely old and worn out men whose

courage has failed and whose thinking has not advanced since the time of Rorke's Drift. The

over-reaction to an incident, no more than a local village pub "punch-up" was ludicrous in the extreme. The incident that has sparked off`

the events to date was an attack on the HQ of the ICAC by about 100 persons, a very small

section of a demonstration. It seems that these

persons were unable to control their tempers

and were guided by their bile rather than by their

brains but true to form the media blew the

-

whole incident into a "bloody battle".

People here are asking many questions

one of the main ones being "In whom can we

put our trust?" Many Govmt.officers have been

so shocked that they are having serious thoughts about leaving Hong Kong because they feel that there is no security for their children and a great difficulty in teaching those children the finer points between what is right and what is wrong Some officers are seriously contemplating

-

returning to their natural homeland. The People's

Republic of China, as they feel that they will

have more security there.
