With reference to your telephone enquiry of 28 April about Fr Christopher Clements who is under detention in Hong Kong, we have been informed that the solicitors acting for Ir Clements are licssrs Johnston, Stokes and Master.
I am afraid we do not have copies of any leaflet setting ot such legal aid as is available in Hong Kong, but the Hong Kong Government say that Fr Clements will be entitled to apply for legal aid upon committal on a charge of murder.
Ir Clements was remanded in jail custody at the hearing
on 26 April. The date for the committal proceedings
has not yet been set, but I will keep you informed of develop- ments.
