Your Honour will recall evidence of Lau Cheong a 1rt day 1A assumed command of Bay View Division discussion took place between the two and in course of discussion according to Lau no evidence to

If Your Honour believes Lau apart from the very great materiality of name/initials that is an admission - that 1A had account in Barclays Bank at that time. 1st draft issued to 40306916 is dated 25/9/71. 4 drafts were issued on that date (103) application for those drafts were made by an untraceable person Lee Har wah of 12 Merlin Street. The next occasion drafts bought for this numbered account was 22/12/71 when 5 drafts bearing consecutive numbers were issued by wing Lung Bank North Point Branch on application of Chan Yan Yiu who also gave 12 erlin street

Earlier I mentioned when referring

to Darclays Bank A/C which Crown alleges to be account of wife of 21 October 1971 drafts were bought for 1As wife's account at National Westminister Bank totalling 2500. Further drafts bought to Barclays A/C Old Trafford on 25/1/72 FP108 4 drafts in serial nos. issued on application of a person called Chan San of 12 Merlin Street. Following day same Chan dan of 12 lierlin Street purchased 2 drafts totalling 21000 for account Barclays Bank (PF109). Ün 22/2 a mysterious Janes Chan of 1A Merlin Street Ground Floor purchased 6 drafts exhibited under FF110 in favour of this particular Barclays A/C. After Mr. Cheng Cheuk Fun cane into picture in July 1972 he purchased a total of 4000 in 8 drafts serial nos. for this particular numbered account. On the same day Cheng bought 1 draft for the deposit account of 2nd accused.

Draft no. follows serial nos. issued for Old Trafford A/C no. (FP19). - On 24/8/72 again Mr. Cheng bought 7 drafts in Causeway Bay Branch of Hang Seng Bank.Again drafts are in serial numbers. (FF38) and date on which he also bought drafts for 2a's deposit account and current account drafts in relation to Thompson's account immed- iately after drafts were made payable to Old Trafford Account.
