Mr. Sceats: This has gone on rapidly. Mr. Cheng is witness before the Court and unless Mr. Cheng should not be dealt with now we should not be dealing with another witness. At conclusion of Mr. Cheng's evidence then I will interpose Mr. Blankt home. Application before Your Honour is for adjournment. No grounds have been put to Your

Honour as to why defence should not cross-examino ir. Cheng now.

No reason why witness should not be dealt with after he has been

sworn.

Fir. Gunston: I made application for adjournment and I suggested 1 month. Your Honour observed you will not give substantial adjournment for 1 month but will agree to adjourn to Monday. After Your Honour

made that decision, lir. Sccats asked that Mr. Blankthorne be interposed because Mr. Blankthome was leaving the Colony on Saturday. We asked for

adjournment to 2.30 p.m. to considor the evidence of Hr. Blankthorne and

after consulting we have come to conclusion that Mr. Blankt horne's

evidence can be interposed.

PW11 John Barnett Blankthorne sworn in English, states:

I have been employed by Hong Kong & Shanghai Banking Corporation

for last four years and at present I am employed as Account Information

Officer of Current Accounts Department of the lead Office of the bank.

As such I am fully conversant with day to day procedures of the

Current Accounts Department of the Bank. I was asked to make certain

inquiries of account in name of person called CJM Cunningham account No, 042810-001. (Document shown to witness) This is signature card

of account owned by Mr. Cunningham. This document is kept with

records of Current Accounts Department.
