His duty was to answer telephone calls.

Aside from Ma Hak Shing and
h Luk going to club, Ha Hak Shing's friends went to the club. I
cannot remember how many of Ma's friends came to the club. They
came to look for Ma themselves. I remember there was one surnamed
Ngan he came very often. I don't know what his occupation was. When Ah Luk brought money there I would put the money in the bank. When I was at the promises I continued to receive telephone calls
during that period. I telephoned to police station informing Ma
Hak Shing that he was wanted by someone. I continued to receive
money, bank the money and receive telephone calls at premises in Electric Road for about 3 months. I told him I wanted to quit my
job and wanted to do another kind of business. I was paid 2,000
per month for work I did. Ma Hak Shing himself paid me. After I
ceased working there, Ah Dee was still thore he slept there and
answered telephone calls. In the 3 savings accounts I mentioned
I banked about $300,000 to each account. I do not mean $300,000
would remain in those accounts all the time as there were withdrawals.
About the same amount would be banked in each of the other 4 accounts
mentioned. I have not seen Ma Hak Shing pay other persons. The
persons who collected money from establishments were Luk Shuk, Tai
Kau Lau and Hung Chai. I don't know when they would meet.

Mr. Hampton: Apply to reserve cross-examination of this witness
Witness held to be co-conspirator. quite apart from the prejudice
and disadvantage and defence of this requires completely different
approach in cross-examination. Would like remainder of morning to
consider this. Ask for hour adjournment now to consider with
Gunston and so dispose of Luk, to save his time in coming back again.
