UNITED NATIONS WORKING GROUF ON CORRUPT PRACTICES

1. I forwarded to the Hong Kong Independent Commission Against Corruption the material you enclosed with your minute of 4 December 1976. As a result of this, Hong Kong have now asked for the following:-

(i) Copies of the two statements already made by the UK observers to the Working Group;

(ii)

The Group's report mentioned in paragraph 3 of TNC/42 of 10 February 1977;

(iii)

2.

An outline of UK's views on the issues to be considered in the elaboration of an international agreement to prevent and eliminate illicit payments, in whatever form, in connexion with international commercial transactions; (page 2 of TNC/38 of 8 February 1977).

I shall be grateful if you will supply the information requested and I enclose a copy of this minute in case you wish to consult Mr Mingay of the Department of Trade.
