LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
+
To July 6 there were a total of 37 letters to the Chinese and English
Press. Sixteen writers welcomed a one-time system (not necessarily HK Time), one
preferred retaining the present system while the remaining 20 were opposed to the
proposal.
Three letters called for public polls on the matter while four correspondents
suggested Hong Kong should be 81⁄2 hours ahead of GMT.
Of the 16 letters in the Chinese Press, only three favoured the proposal.
