will be offered the alternative of land exchange or cash compensation including an ex-gratia compensation for agricultural land to bring the total compensation up to $10 per square foot. It is expected that la nd exchange entitlements will be accepted in respect of about 90% of the land affected and that the amount of compensation to be paid will there - fore be reduced accordingly.

Honourable Members will be asked to advise, under section 3 of the Crown Lands Resumption Ordinance (Chapter 124), whether the resumption of the lots listed at Annex B is required for a public purpose, namely the implementation of Phase 2 of the development of Area 39A, North Kwai Chung, in connection with the Tsuen Wan/Kwai Chung North Development.
